Program

- A set of instructions that tell computer what to do.

- There are two types of program :

• Operating System
• Application

1. Operating System

• Program that coordinate all the activities among computer or device mobile hardware
• Example : Windows, Linux, Redhat ,Mac OS
• Task :

2. Application

• A program or a group of program that designed for the end user.
• Runs on the operating system and does a specific job such as word processing.
• Cannot run itself because it depend on system software to execute it.

Software

• Programs and other operating used by the computer.
• Can be made up from more than one program.
• All the software on a computer, including the applications and the operating system.

Graphic And Media Software

- Photo editing software

- Clip art or Image Gallery

- Video and Audio Editing

• Media Player
• Disc Burning Software

File and Disk Management Tools

1. File Manager (Tool)

• To performs function that relate to file management.

2. Search Tool (Program)

• Program that include operating system to locate a file on device based on our criteria

3. Image Viewer ( Tool )

• Allow user to display , copy and print graphics file.

4. Uninstaller (Tool)

•  Remove a program from system files.

5. Disk Cleanup (Tool)

• Search and remove unnecessary files.

6. Disk Defragmenter (Tool)

• To recognize the files and unused space on computer hard-disc

7. Screen Saver (Tool)

• Causes a display devices screen to show moving image or blank screen

8. File Compression (Tool)

• To shrink the size of files.
